John Fowler is English born, but enjoys Falkland Islands status. He qualified as a teacher in 1969 (College of Ripon & St. John, York, University of Leeds) and was formerly Superintendent of Education, Falkland Islands, from 1980 to 1984.

Larissa Fava is from Gibraltar and the partner of a Falkland Islander. She obtained a BA (QTS) Hons from St. Mary's University College, Middlesex in 1996 and a TEFL/TESL Diploma in 2001. She has taught Spanish at all levels within the Falkland Islands Education Department including to adults and infants. More recently (2001-2002) she taught English to adults at the English Incentive Institute, Vigo Spain. She is equally fluent in English and Spanish.
